It’s week 18 of the Kindness Club.
Thanks to all of you who have been reading and joining in on the weekly kindness prompts even if you are not posting or commenting.
Last week’s Kindness Club prompt was to be more conscientious about recycling.
If everyone improves their recycling habits by even a little bit, the world will be a lot better off.
This week’s prompt is to be kind to animals.
I am not what you would call an animal lover by any means. Forty years later I am still only getting used to dogs. Although at least now I can be in the same room as them and even pet them. Better than me running away in panic I guess.
A few months ago something weird happened to me. I had some ants crawling on my counter (I know, yuck) and for some reason I could not kill them. I felt like I was killing a living thing for no good reason other than the fact that it inconvenienced me.
When I killed a scorpion a few weeks back instead of just getting him out of my house, again the guilt pangs. Although with that I was able to assuage my guilt because of the risks.
So this week, focus on being kind to animals in general. Although many of you might not be game for extremes such as mine, maybe you will think twice next time before you kill an ant or fly you don’t need to. Kindness extends to all living creatures.
Come back on Sunday to link up your posts and pictures. (I will leave the McLinky up from Sunday till Sunday.)
If anyone who is not a blogger wants to join in please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will put your story or photo up on my blog.
