Chocolate Chip Cookies

Everyone seems to love my cookies, so here is the recipe. You know the one, the Tollhouse cookie recipe from the Tollhouse Heritage Recipe Cookbook.

Here is the recipe: (I generally double or triple it because it freezes well even unbaked and then can be defrosted and used.)

2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda (bicarb)
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter or margarine (about 200 grams)
3/4 cups sugar
3/4 cups brown sugar firmly packed (btw-I use light brown sugar for part of it)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 package chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (optional, I never use it)

In mixer beat butter, sugars and vanilla. Beat till creamy. Add eggs one at a time. Add salt and baking soda. Gradually add flour. Mix in chocolate chips.

Put in refrigerator for an hour or so still harder.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. (actually recipe says 375 degrees but never do that)

Drop by rounded teaspoons on trays with baking paper. Bake 8-10 minutes.
