The idea of starting a Kindness Club came to me not long after I started blogging. My inspiration for it came from Josie at Sleep is for the Weak with her weekly writer’s workshops and from Tara at Sticky Fingers with her weekly photo gallery.
Both Josie and Tara give weekly prompts and then any bloggers (or non bloggers) who want to participate, come back in a few days and link to their prompted post. I thought to myself, what a great idea it would be to give people prompts of acts of kindness for them to do and then write about.
So The Kindness Club was born in my mind. Heather from Notes from Lapland made the lovely badge for me and helped me along with some code. Thanks so much! I had help from Vicki at Vegemitevix as well with encouragement, ideas and she has been a lifesaver in general while I have been pulling out my hair trying to learn HTML and how websites work.
Also for those of you struggling with wordpress, Mark from McBuzz is amazing at answering questions (for free) and has loads of tutorials on his site.
Since I started blogging, there have been so many kind and helpful people who didn’t even know me who have taken the time to answer my millions of questions about blogging and websites. Thanks to all of you, you know who you are.
So now the big moment. Today is the start of The Kindness Club. Every Tuesday I will give a prompt having to do with kindness. Hopefully you will all be able to do it and even blog about it. On Sunday I will put up a Mclinky and it will stay open for a week.
