You Can Always Think Of One More Thing

Never the one to turn down a meme challenge, when Gappy at Single Parenthood tagged me with the Kreativ Blogger Award I struggled with myself wondering how I was going to come up for the third time with 7 interesting things about myself that you may not know.

I thought and thought, and then asked my husband for help, because he threw out some of the interesting ones last time. He got me started and from one thing to the next I realized you can always think of one more thing. So I did and here is my list. You guys are going to have to judge whether it is interesting enough.

  1. The first and only time my husband and I went to Jai Alai in Miami we won $600. Which brings me to the next point.
  2. Winning Jai Alai Ticket-Saved & Laminated For Posterity

  3. I was (still am when I get to watch football) a Miami Dolphins Football Team fan. I was a New Yorker, but my boyfriend when I was 15 was a Floridian with a crazy preoccupation for the Dolphins. Last I heard he still is and even painted his guest bathroom (I guess he has brainwashed his wife as well) in the Dolphin colors. What can I say??? I always liked crazy people. I switched the crazy Dolphins football fan for a crazy New York Mets baseball fan.
  4. Me at 16 in my Dolphin decked out room

  5. When I was 7 years old I flew from NY to Israel on a plane by myself to go visit my grandparents for a month. Okay I was an unescorted minor, but still I think I was very brave.  I even did it again at age 11. (By the way, note to all parents thinking of sending their daughters to their grandparents on their own for a long visit. Make sure you tell them ahead of time not to let your daughter make haircut decisions on her own, because you may get back a daughter with a crew cut in place of her long hair.)
  6. Me at 7 with my grandpa

Me at 11 with my suitcase by grandparents

  7. In elementary school I went for speech therapy. It was me and my friend Cheryl. I couldn’t say S (as in Susie) correctly and she couldn’t pronounce Ch (as in Cheryl) correctly. A pathetic duo we were.
  8. When I spent the year half a year (because I missed my then boyfriend now husband too much) in Israel after high school, I worked part of the time on a kibbutz and I had to give turkeys immunizations. Really really no fun at all! Not good memory, so no pictures to show.
  9. I am a good plumber. I clean out drains, unstuff toilets and all other kinds of stuff. (BTW-I also drill, dabble in electricity, paint…) And before you ask, no my pants are not falling down.
  10. I can’t seem to say no about doing the same memes over and over in various different ways. Oh wait, you guys did know that. Oh well.

So the point of this whole exercise, aside from begging you my fellow bloggers to please have pity on me and not retag me on this or the Happy 101 meme again, is to point out that you can always think of one more thing.

There is always one more thing we want to do, one more thing to buy. Along with that you can always think of one more good deed to do as well.

So we need to use our capacity to always think of one more thing for good and not forget to take time to relax as well.

Do you feel like you can always think there is one more thing that needs to be done or that you want to do?

My oh my, you are such a good me me person. I am still on the 10 things that make me happy, I must try harder!

    1. Susie says:

LOL-did you meant to say meme person? Don’t worry I still have a backlog of 6 or 7 undone memes waiting to be done.

  2. Fab meme! Love the pics and Florida is my most favourite place in the World. I have been 5 times not sure we will ever be able to afford to go back. Boo ! I am honoured to be tagged by you and am sure it will make me feel much better. Thank you. Not sure if I can find any pics. Will try . xx

    1. Susie says:

Hope you enjoy it and hope you feel better!

I am suitably impressed Susie. Thank you for taking the time to do my meme even though you had already had to do it a gazillion times. It would have been more than o.k. for you to have said no if you really didn’t feel like it :-)

That’s what I’ve taken from your post today actually. I would like sometimes to be able to say no to memes (it is absolutely nothing personal towards the person who has tagged me, but just that they distract me from writing about what I want to write about sometimes) but always feel as though that is somehow rude, and that I don’t want to put people off tagging me in the future because I like how memes can help develop relationships and good feelings between bloggers.

It is hard to say no without feeling that I’m appearing ungrateful. Any thoughts?

    1. Susie says:

I am at the point in my life if I really don’t want to do something I won’t.

I have a long list of memes waiting to be done and I am sure I will do them because I do like them, just have to be inspired. So they are in a file, with the meme, link to the tag and when I do it I cross it off.

Save them for when you are drawing blanks and have no other inspiration. I put the added twist of making them into lessons as well.

The feeling ungrateful is only in your head.
